A gynecologic cancer is any cancer that originates in a woman's reproductive organs, whether it is cancer of the cervix, ovarian cancer, cancer of the uterus, cancer of the vagina, or cancer of the vulva. Many of them are asymptomatic, so routine gynecological exams are vital to detect the disease early. Each year, around 1,000 women are diagnosed with gynecological cancer in Costa Rica.
