Prevention and early detection of cancer

We offer oncological screenings and early cancer detection tests.

According to the World Health Organization, worldwide between 30 and 50 per cent of cancers could be avoided by only reducing risk factors; adopt preventive strategies –such as vaccines against the human papilloma virus and hepatitis B–, and achieve early detection of the disease through screening programs.
Aware of this, at the Cancer and Hematology Center of the Metropolitano Hospital we not only focus on providing an excellent treatment program for cancer patients, we also focus our efforts on the prevention and early detection of this group of diseases.
In order to achieve that we have created the oncological check-up, a medical appointment in which one of our medical oncologists makes a general review of the patient's health with focus in their personal and family history, and a complete examination in search of carcinogenic lesions and a check of other possible changes or symptoms in the body that suggests the presence of a cancer.
In addition, they analyze the risk factors of the person to develop cancer. According to your lifestyle, age and family history, the doctor suggests to the patient changes in their lifestyle to prevent the development of the disease, and builds a tailored plan that tells you when and how often to have early detection tests.
